Layser Cave - A rare glimpse into the past - In 1982, during pre-work for a timber sale, Tim Layser discovered a hidden cave on Lone Tree Mountain.  Now known as Layser Cave it has become one of the oldest links to the past in the Cascade Mountains.  Artifacts that were unscathed by looters revealed an untouched home from nearly 3,500 years ago.  To learn more a small exhibit is held at the Cispus Learning Center and approximately 3.3 miles away is the trail head entrance that offers an easy 1/4 mile round trip hike to the cave.
