Outdoor Recreation Health & Fitness (ORHF) Camp
The Outdoor Recreation Health & Fitness Camp has two sessions: winter and summer. The intensive curriculum is designed for students interested in exploring the vast opportunities the outdoors has to offer. Participants will gain confidence and skills in pursuit of outdoor adventure. They will respectfully and safely learn how to experience the outdoors with minimal impact on the environment through experiential learning.
This class aligns with the power standards for Physical Education and meets state requirements for Classroom Based Assessments. Students can earn one full semester PE credit with successful completion of the camp and a follow-up assignment.
Through hiking, backpacking and other land-based activities, participants will learn:
- Outdoor sport skill building
- Leave no trace
- Wilderness first aid
- Environmental etiquette
The winter session is held at the Chewelah Peak Learning Center while the summer session is held at the Cispus Learning Center. Use the tabs above to learn more about each site.
Registration for ORHF is available through our partner organization, the Association of Washington Student Leaders.
