Salmon Ecology Overview

Have you ever wanted to watch salmon spawn right in front of you? What about catching salmon frys from isolated pools and releasing them into the river? In this program, your group will learn why salmon are a cultural touchstone in the Pacific Northwest, how each of us can help salmon, and how to tell apart the five different species of salmon in our region.

 

Group Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 participants

  • Minimum age of 5 years old

  • Participants must have shoes they are able to get wet in (weather depending)

  • Waiver signed by each participant and/or parent/guardian if participant is under 18 years of age

Logistics and Pricing:

  • 90-minute or three-hour programs are available. Programming hours are 9 am to noon and 1 pm to 4 pm. (The 90-minute option pairs well with the Forest Ecology Program.)

  • Pricing is based on the number of instructors needed (max of 8 participants per instructor)

    • $75.00 per hour per instructor

  • Suitable for small and large groups of both youth and adults

  • Prices are expected to change in the beginning of 2024.
